If everyone went vegan there would be no reason to have cows they are an expensive animal to keep for no reason. So that means vegan=death for cows. So either way cows die. Global veganism would cause multiple animal species to become obsolete, and possibly extinct.
That’s a viewpoint that you are entitled to. I don’t believe it’s true though.
Apart from anything else, people enjoy seeing cattle as part of the landscape and if there were less of them, they would be appreciated even more.
If everyone did go vegan, there certainly would be a whole lot less cattle which would be a good thing as to have too many is bad for the environment and certainly we have too many now.
The figures for water consumption, gas emissions, and environmental impact with cattle compared with other animals – such as, say, deer – are staggering.
Or take Australia where they have far too many cattle (and sheep) yet kangaroos are extinct in some areas due to mass culling for petfood, trainers, etc. although they are far less harmful to the environment than the many cattle.
Red meat and dairy foods are not even good for the health. In those countries with a high consumption of dairy, there is a correspondingly high rate of heart disease.
